Coaching for Leaders began as a side project in 2011. As our audience grew over the years, Bonni and I elected to transition to a sustainable business model. Today, it's my full-time work.
99% of the revenue for Coaching for Leaders in 2022 came directly from our Academy and Pro memberships. That's intentional, so time and attention is focused on serving our members.
Zero revenue comes from sponsorships or third party advertising. That's because we're in the business of leadership development, not advertising. As such, our stakeholders are our members who are working intentionally with us to accelerate their leadership development through our formal programs.
We have never solicited fees or accepted any payments for guests to appear the podcast. Nor have we ever paid any guest for their appearance.
In the past, we occasionally set up affiliate relationships with a few guest experts to recommend experts and tools that will help drive your professional development. In all cases, those relationships were disclosed on the episode itself and episode notes. Longtime listeners may recall us affiliating with products like Michael Hyatt's excellent Best Year Ever course. We have not entered into new affiliate relationships in several years and most of these previous partnerships expired long ago.
Less than 1% of our annual revenue revenue comes from Amazon and Bookshop for listeners who purchase books though our affiliate links. Past and current affiliate links are always indicated on this site with the “*” symbol. That means it looks like this when I link to my favorite coaching book* by Michael Bungay Stanier. If you make a purchase with one of our affiliate links, we receive a small percentage of the purchase price (at no additional cost to you). That revenue is used to offset expenses to produce the podcast. All other revenue comes directly from member support.
